The Sentinel would like to take a minute to thank the candidates for the MFPD Board of directors. These folks voluntarily take time out of their daily routines to serve our community, in spite of a potential evacuation, and continue the fantastic work of support for our Fire Chief and the Firefighters of our local Mosquito Fire Department. And to the men and women fighting the current fires in our area: God Speed. These are people with their feet on the ground (and the rudder pedals) who do the work. They aren’t just mumbling around in Sacramento, or fumbling around in D.C. These people risk life and limb to protect us: donning forty pounds of wildland gear and oxygen tanks to do battle with an inferno. They fly incredibly dangerous aerial missions and risk their lives to protect us. So, Thank You. Your efforts are appreciated more than you know.
