The Mosquito Fire Protection District (MFPD) has three new directors. According to MFPD, “The Mosquito Fire Protection District’s sole purpose is to protect and defend our community. The men and women of the District serve with skill, dedication, and determination. Whether it be fire, storm, medical emergency, or person needing assistance, the Fire District is there. We value service to the community through volunteering. If you desire to serve the community with your skills and talents, we have a place for you.” It is governed by a board of five (5) directors. There were three (3) open positions.
Five (5) candidates ran for the three positions. Interestingly, one candidate, William Buhnerkempe, while filing as candidate, decided not to campaign, but stated, “if elected would serve“, a local supporter of Buhnerkempe, stepped in and campaigned for him, but his attempt proved futile.

According to reports from El Dorado County, the results are in. The new board members will be the top (3) candidates.
