Many Questions Linger For Final Board Meeting Tomorrow, Jan 31, 2023, 6:00 PM – UPDATE!

Why is this board so unresponsive to its members?

This will be the final board of directors meeting chaired by Karen Pullin. If you wish to attend it – highly recommend – it will be at her home 6367 Log Cabin Lane Placerville, CA 95667. Date: January 31, 2023 Time: 6:00PM. If you are computer savvy, you can use ZOOM. We suggest you behave yourself, or you could be expelled or fined. While there is no provisions for fines in our Bylaws, this board made the rules clear:

“As provided in the “Open Meeting Act,” members may observe the meeting but do not have the right to participate in the board’s deliberations or votes. Members may address issues during the open forum portion of the meeting. If attendees become disruptive, they may be expelled from the meeting and/or fined.”

Some of the lingering question are:

  • How can the SCPOA ballots be counted fairly as provided by CCC 5110(d) “An inspector of elections shall perform all duties impartially, in good faith, to the best of the inspector of election’s ability, as expeditiously as is practical, and in a manner that protects the interest of all members of the association.” with an inspector of election (Karen Holley) demonstrated history of bias and hostility towards a candidate of for the SCPOA board?
  • After numerous requests that the board address the issue of a biased inspector of election counting the ballots, why was the question of a replacement not placed on the agenda?
  • If we wish to attend this board meeting in person, why must we be subjected to attend it in a crowded and possible unhealthy, or unfriendly private residence, when the firehouse is available as provided by our bylaws?
  • If we wish to attend the annual membership meeting, on Feb 25. 3023, in person, why must we be subjected to attend it in a crowded, and possible unhealthy or unfriendly private residence, when the firehouse is available as provided by our bylaws?
  • When will Association members receive a complete and comprehensive cost estimate of the estimated final costs and ongoing expenses of the community building?
  • Why did not all members get the annual member meeting notice for Feb 25th, 2023, in the packet sent to them on or about January 24th? (attached below) – Correction, the member asking this question did find the current annual member meeting notice (Ed).

Hope to see you there.

  1. Why are Board meetings being held at someone’s house, when the Dyer Lake Pavilion has been used in the past…yes, it’s cold, yes, people wear jackets and warm clothing. Apparently, despite being notified with the ballot material stating the ‘Annual Meeting’ will be held at “Dyer Hall”…I’m being informed now that the Annual Meeting is going to be held at a Board Member’s house instead? If 200 people attend, how’s that going to work…or is that the intention to limit attendance?
