The annual MVFA Spaghetti Dinner was held at the Mosquito Fire Station on June 3, 2023 with the help of MVFA Volunteers, Mosquito Fire Fighters and Support Group. More than 75 attendees were present for one of the longest running events in the Mosquito community.  Special thanks go to Frank and Heidi Ethridge who did the cooking and food preparation.

Everyone welcomed the newest member of the Mosquito Fire Department, Captain Charlie, the Labra-Doodle emotional support service dog, pictured  here with his MFPD trainer Heidi Glockner.

The Sentinel recognizes the volunteers who make our community events happen: Chief Jack Rosevear, the Mosquito fire fighters and Support Group, Cheryl Owen and the MVFA board of directors, Don Stever and the Mosquito Fire District board of directors, Meredith Blain and the District Auxiliary board of directors, and Kim Purcell and the Swansboro Pilots’ Association.

If you are seeking an opportunity to meet new neighbors or get together with old friends, MVFA community events are where you want to be.  MVFA board meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at the fire station, and district residents are invited to attend.

Mosquito Fire District board of directors’ meetings are held on the fourth  Thursday of the month, 7:00 PM at the station.  The organizations mentioned in this issue offer residents a chance to volunteer and give back to their community.  Please take time to be involved and stay informed.
