The fifth Firefighters’ Breakfast was held on Saturday, September 16th at the fire station, and sponsored by our new fund raiser organization, the District Auxiliary – Mosquito (D’Ax). All the proceeds from this event benefit the Mosquito Fire Protection District (MFPD). The District Auxiliary is a non-profit fundraising entity of the MFPD. D’Ax President Meredith Blain organized this month’s event and reported having plenty of help. Chief Jack Rosevear and his Fire Fighters, Trent and Mary Williams, Devon Beesley, Melissa and Don Stever, Scott Reiman, Don Gonzaga, Karen Jensen, Sharlyn Fields, Dee Harris, Natasha Cutter, Bob Byerwalter, Dennis Janca, Julee and Dan Hunt and Kirk Bronsord, our certified chef.
In a remarkable display of community solidarity, attendance at this month’s Mosquito Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) breakfast soared, with an impressive 99 hearty breakfasts served. The event, a staple in the community for years, has been revitalized through the diligent efforts of the District Auxiliary (D’Ax).
The MVFD, an integral part of the Mosquito Fire Protection District, received a generous boost of approximately $1,000 in donations, reflecting the unwavering support from locals. The MVFD’s monthly breakfast event, once a cherished tradition, is now experiencing a resurgence in popularity, all thanks to the dedicated endeavors of the District Auxiliary.
The District Auxiliary, a grassroots organization deeply committed to bolstering the Mosquito Fire Protection District, is playing a pivotal role in revitalizing this cherished community event. This heartening display of support underscores the significance of community collaboration in ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
Also at the breakfast event, the Mosquito Volunteer Fire Association (MVFA) Crafters held a gift sale with proceeds benefitting the MFPD. The Sentinel salutes all the volunteers who make our community work. The Mosquito Fire Protection District (MFPD) and its District Auxiliary (D’Ax) offer residents a chance to volunteer and give back to their community. Please take time to be involved and stay informed. Mosquito Fire District and D’Ax board of directors’ meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month, 5:30 PM at the station.
Thank you for supporting our local organizations. The next pancake breakfast will be held on Veterans’ Day, Saturday November 11th from 9 to 11 AM with a special welcome salute and complementary breakfast to our community military veterans.
