On behalf of the Swansboro Pilots’ Association, I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made the Station 75 fundraiser such an amazing success. So many participated in the planning, executing and cleaning up afterwards.

We had the pilots, firefighters, MVFA and so many community members working together and having a great time. Scott Reiman worked with the firefighters, Meredith Blain and Melissa Stever put so much time into organizing everything to be able to accept and track the donations as well as setting up the new non-profit organization for the department.

A special thanks goes to our new SCPOA candidates, David Dudley, Karen Paul, Melissa Stever and Meredith Blain, who staffed the donation table.

Kirk Bronsord with his Bad Boyz of BBQ not only made some amazing food including the amazing chicken that about melted in your mouth, but also donated a significant amount to the event. We had about 200 attend and thanks to the generosity of so many community members, over $12,000 was raised. The purchasing of equipment has started, so we can look forward to an announcement soon for an upcoming breakfast at the station. Thank you to everyone!

Be sure to watch this video. See many of your friends and neighbors enjoy the fundraiser, BBQ and having a grand time.

  1. A question was raised “Where will that 12k go? I hope it is public record!!!” The answer is:
“It was allocated by the donor for a specific purpose from a comprehensive list provided by the volunteers staffing the donation station. The donors were also given a receipt for tax purposes. Rest assured that the beneficiary, a 501C3 organization, will provide complete accounting and transparency. BTW, it is something not done by a local fire safety organization, which is not a 501c3 organization seeking donations, nor did it support this event. Have you read this, and the previous articles and posts, which more clearly address your question?”
